DevOps Engineer

Compensation: $68 to $74 Hourly

Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a DevOps Engineer (contract). In this role, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for the architecture, security, automation, and operational excellence of enterprise cloud platforms and CI/CD environments. This individual will help drive DevSecOps strategy, establish engineering standards, and collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, data, and AI teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions. This role is onsite in Austin, Tx. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for enterprise cloud and DevSecOps platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available environments.
  • Design, implement, and govern end-to-end CI/CD pipelines aligned with organizational security, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Integrate security controls, automated scanning, and policy enforcement throughout application, infrastructure, and data delivery lifecycles.
  • Lead infrastructure automation initiatives utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) best practices and tooling.
  • Design, build, and support containerized platforms and orchestration solutions supporting cloud-native and hybrid applications.
  • Architect and manage cloud environments supporting business-critical systems, modernization efforts, and infrastructure migrations.
  • Partner with software development, data, analytics, and AI teams to enable secure and efficient delivery of enterprise solutions.
  • Develop and maintain reusable CI/CD frameworks, templates, and automation components that improve consistency and delivery speed.
  • Establish and promote DevSecOps standards, governance, and engineering best practices across technology teams.
  • Support Agile development practices through modern collaboration, source control, and delivery platforms.
  • Design secure cloud environments for advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning workloads, including network segmentation and controlled connectivity models.
  • Mentor engineering teams and serve as a subject matter expert for cloud architecture, DevSecOps practices, and security automation.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or enterprise software delivery.
  • Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines across build, testing, security, and deployment workflows.
  • Strong expertise with public cloud platforms, including networking, identity management, security controls, and platform services.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar solutions.
  • Experience supporting containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker, or equivalent platforms.
  • Deep understanding of application security, cloud security, vulnerability management, and compliance best practices.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale application, data, analytics, and AI workloads in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with AI development platforms, agent-based services, and AI-assisted software development tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud platform certifications and advanced DevSecOps credentials.
  • Experience implementing security automation and compliance controls within enterprise cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, data platforms, and secure AI deployment patterns.
  • Experience driving cloud transformation, platform modernization, and large-scale migration initiatives.
  • Background supporting highly regulated or security-conscious environments.

$68.00-$74.00 Hourly
