HR Director
Job Description:
The Warewash Division of the Food Equipment Group is seeking a Division Human Resource Director for the on-site office in Troy, OH, located about 20 minutes north of Dayton. This division produces Hobart, Stero, and Somat branded commercial dishwashers and waste equipment for use in hotels, casinos, restaurants, health care, cruise ships, schools and universities and retail. The division drives growth of its business through sales strategies, a pipeline of new product development and through enhanced customer facing approaches and innovative technologies. Division goals also include attracting and retaining the best talent and developing future enterprise leaders.
Summary:
We are in search of a Division Human Resource Director to lead the HR function for the North American Warewash business. Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager, this position is a key member on the division leadership team with a demonstrated track record of HR strategy development and execution as well as experience to lead multiple HR projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate should be an accomplished professional that has experience in implementing HR best practices and providing coaching and consultative advice to business partners, as well as have experience working with labor unions.
Reporting to this position is one direct and eight indirect reports. The candidate will establish appropriate relationships with divisional stakeholders and will contribute to the division Long-Range Plan, and lead talent reviews, recruitment, retention of talent, compensation planning, performance management and other HR activities.
What you will do:
The major responsibilities of this role include:
- Lead the development and execution of focused strategies and initiatives that will increase our ability to attract and retain talent
- Lead grievance meetings/answer grievances
- Lead and negotiate one of the Warewash plant facility’s labor contract
- Support negotiations for the Canadian operation’s labor contract
- Lead talent review and succession planning processes
- Continuously improve onboarding and training programs
- Coach and provide consultation to managers and employees
- Provide guidance to Plant HR managers regarding terminations, disciplinary actions, employee concerns, legal matters, etc.
- Provide oversight for the annual division Affirmative Action Plan (AAP)
- Lead divisional workforce planning actions
- Provide sound advice as a trusted partner to the senior leadership team
- Ensure legal compliance with federal and state laws

Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or Labor Relations
- 10+ years of HR experience
- Experience working with labor unions, including administering and negotiating collective bargaining agreements
- Experience defining and administering HR policies
