Bookkeeper
Our client in Pittsfield, Massachusetts is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for an organized accounting professional who enjoys managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting overall financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records with accuracy and timeliness
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries as needed
- Assist with payroll processing and related recordkeeping
- Generate financial reports and support month-end close activities
- Monitor expenses and help ensure accurate coding of transactions
- Maintain organized documentation and support audit requests as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or related accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Compensation
