Sr. Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant in the Portland area. This position will play a key role in managing month end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, analytical, and capable of working independently while collaborating with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead month end and year end close activities
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Perform balance sheet and income statement analyses
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Support internal and external audits
• Monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with process improvements and system enhancements
• Support fixed asset accounting, accruals, and prepaid expense schedules
• Partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing month end close processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Public accounting experience
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, nonprofit, healthcare, distribution, or professional services environments
• Experience with audit support and financial statement preparation
• ERP implementation or system conversion experience
