Billing Specialist
We are seeking a Billing Specialist in the Portland area. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate invoicing, timely payment processing, account reconciliation, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position plays a key role in supporting the company's financial operations by maintaining accurate billing records, resolving discrepancies, and helping drive efficient cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on schedule
- Review billing information for completeness and accuracy
- Process adjustments, credits, and billing corrections as needed
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and customer inquiries
- Monitor customer accounts and assist with collections efforts
- Post payments and maintain accurate account records
- Reconcile accounts and investigate outstanding balances
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure billing accuracy
- Maintain detailed documentation and billing records
- Assist with month end close activities and reporting
- Support process improvements and workflow efficiencies
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience
- Strong understanding of invoicing and payment processing procedures
- Experience reconciling customer accounts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage Intacct
- Prior experience supporting high volume billing environments
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and collections processes
Compensation
