Human Resource Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting and administering a broad range of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, payroll support, compliance, and policy administration. This position serves as a resource for employees and management while ensuring HR practices align with organizational goals and applicable employment laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate and manage the full-cycle recruitment process.
- Post job openings, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and conduct reference checks.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate qualifications.
- Prepare offer letters and employment documentation.
- Maintain applicant tracking and recruitment records.
Onboarding & Employee Engagement
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
- Ensure completion of all employment paperwork and compliance requirements.
- Facilitate employee training and development initiatives.
- Support employee engagement and retention programs.
- Assist with employee recognition activities and company events.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and employment matters.
- Assist in resolving employee concerns and workplace issues.
- Promote positive employee relations and a productive work environment.
- Support corrective action and performance improvement processes.
Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment and changes.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment processes.
- Liaise with benefits providers and brokers to resolve issues.
Performance Management
- Support performance review and appraisal processes.
- Assist managers with goal-setting and performance documentation.
- Track employee evaluations and development plans.
- Recommend training opportunities based on organizational needs.
Payroll & HRIS Administration
- Support payroll processing and timekeeping administration.
- Maintain employee records within HRIS and payroll systems.
- Ensure employee data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Process employment changes including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
Compliance & Policy Administration
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain personnel files and HR records.
- Assist with policy development, implementation, and communication.
- Support audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
Training & Development
- Coordinate employee training programs and compliance training.
- Track training completion and certifications.
- Assist in developing career development and succession planning initiatives.
Qualifications:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
Knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP preferred.
Ability to generate and analyze HR reports.
Compensation
