Controller

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, cash management, and compliance activities for the organization. This hands-on leadership role will manage the day-to-day accounting function while partnering with executive leadership to provide financial insights that support business growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical accounting expertise, experience in multiple industries, and proficiency in modern ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Analyze financial results and provide meaningful reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Develop and maintain financial dashboards, KPIs, and management reports.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, banking requirements, and company policies.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Manage sales and use tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.
• Support risk management initiatives and strengthen financial governance.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.
• Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
• Develop financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Assist management with profitability analysis, pricing strategies, and cost management initiatives.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital requirements.
• Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and treasury functions.
• Monitor cash positions and recommend strategies to optimize liquidity.
• Support debt compliance and financial covenant reporting.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting and finance processes.
• Utilize ERP systems and technology to improve reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Lead system implementations, upgrades, and process automation projects.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy across financial systems.

Leadership

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and manage accounting staff.
• Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and financial modeling.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
• Proven experience managing audits, internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

• CPA, CMA, or MBA.
• Experience in multiple industries including manufacturing, distribution, professional services, healthcare, logistics, or private equity-backed organizations.
• Experience with acquisitions, integrations, and business transformation initiatives.
• Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting platforms.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$100,000.00 Yearly
