Title: Plastic Card Remediation Specialist

The Plastic Card Remediation Specialist plays a critical role in protecting WEOKIE from financial and
reputational risk by managing plastic card disputes, ensuring compliance with Regulation E, and supporting
fraud prevention efforts. This position serves as a subject matter expert for internal teams and provides
guidance on risk-related issues involving plastic cards.
- Dispute Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve plastic card disputes in compliance with Regulation E and Visa/MasterCard rules.
- Accurately balance general ledgers associated with dispute processing.
- Act as an escalation point for complex member issues related to plastic cards.
- Risk Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze transaction data to identify patterns, trends, and potential fraud risks.
- Maintain and review reports to detect negative risk indicators.
- Document findings and provide recommendations to mitigate risk.
- Compliance & Regulatory Support:
- Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Assist AVP of Compliance & Risk with daily inquiries from internal departments.
- Support fraud investigations and report financial exploitation of vulnerable members.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with Risk Management team members and other departments.
- Provide training and guidance on dispute resolution processes.
- Ensure professionalism in all communications and documentation.
- Functionality and capabilities of technology/systems that enable all Risk Management activities are well understood and documented where appropriate in management practices and procedures.
- Activities, such as testing, assessment, and/or reporting results, and conclusions are thoroughly documented, completed timely and accurately.
- Works collaboratively with Risk Management team members and other stakeholders.
- Timely and efficient execution of Risk Management activities and priorities.
- Professionalism in all communications, documentation and reporting to portray a positive image of the Risk Management program and WEOKIE.
- All activities are efficiently conducted, generally error free, and are completed following the appropriate policies, procedures, operational controls, and compliance controls.
- Losses, errors, and risks are controlled and mitigated by adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.
- Dispute Resolution Timeliness: Resolve 95% of disputes within regulatory timelines.
- Fraud Detection: Identify and escalate 100% of suspected fraud cases within 24 hours.
- Compliance: Achieve zero regulatory violations related to dispute handling.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills: The Plastic Card Remediation Specialist must have a thorough knowledge of WEOKIE products, policies, operations, and procedures as each relates to Compliance and Risk Management. The following is also required:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience is preferred.
- Previous knowledge of Regulation E and Visa/MasterCard regulations preferred.
- Previous experience in credit union/bank/financial institution environments preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to monitor and prioritize multiple activities.
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, technical, and written communication skills.
