Position Summary

Cedar International LLC is seeking an experienced Action Officer to support the J56 Division in developing and coordinating strategic planning, policy, posture, assessment, and multilateral engagement products. This role supports senior leader decision-making by producing briefing materials, written staff products, and planning inputs that align with DoD and USPACOM objectives across the Pacific theater. The position is ideal for a defense planner who thrives in a fast-paced headquarters environment and can manage multiple short-fuse actions with professionalism and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning, policy, and strategy efforts across campaign, posture, and engagement processes.
  • Draft, review, coordinate, and assess products supporting the Theater Campaign Plan, Theater Campaign Order, Theater Posture Plan, Country Engagement Plans, and related documents.
  • Prepare talking points, information papers, briefing decks, background papers, and executive summaries for flag/general officer and SES-level leaders.
  • Coordinate with DoD, interagency, Service, component, and foreign partners to support high-level engagements and multilateral activities.
  • Participate in and/or lead battle rhythm meetings, working groups, and planning sessions.
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and technical support for major events, including scheduling, calendar management, and ETMS2 task actions.
  • Respond to short-notice taskings and questions on strategy, posture, assessment, and multilateral issues.
  • Maintain knowledge management tools, task trackers, and continuity materials.

Position Requirements: Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree in relevant field i.e. international studies, security studies, national security. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to brief senior leaders. 6+ Years of experience supporting military, government, or headquarters staff processes. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a deadline-driven environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. Preferred Qualifications Recent military experience at senior staff or field grade experience. Masters Degree in relevant field Experience working Pacific security or theater campaign issues. Familiarity with USPACOM staff processes and battle rhythm. Understanding of MDMP, joint planning, campaign planning, and theater security cooperation constructs. Experience planning or supporting senior-level multilateral engagements. Industry Standard Certifications PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or similar project/process certification is a plus. Professional Military Education JPME Phase I or II preferred. Intermediate Level Education / Command and General Staff College or equivalent strongly preferred. Senior Service College or War College education Physical Requirements Willingness and ability to travel via locally provided aircraft, vehicles, and boats to remote locations. Ability to work in challenging environments, including high-threat areas and adverse weather conditions. Travel: Medium 25% Ability to work in secure, fast-paced operational environments. Must meet physical and medical standards for access to military facilities. Able to travel as required within PACAF/USINDOPACOM AOR.
