Overview
Lutron is seeking a Lead Tax Analyst to join the Finance team at our Corporate Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA. This role will support global direct income tax compliance, reporting, forecasting, and tax planning activities. Working closely with business leaders, finance teams, and external advisors, the Senior Lead will provide analysis and insights related to income taxes, support the global tax provision process, monitor tax law developments, and drive continuous improvement in tax processes and reporting.
This position combines strong technical tax knowledge with analytical and business partnering skills to help deliver accurate tax reporting, support strategic decision-making, and enhance the efficiency of global tax operations.
Responsibilities
Direct Income Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Coordinate and support global income tax compliance activities, including U.S. federal, state, and select international filings.
- Support external advisors in the preparation of international tax calculations, including NCTI, FDDEI, FTC, BEAT, and related reporting requirements through data gathering, review, analysis, and validation of supporting information.
- Serve as Lutron's primary liaison for transfer pricing, CbCR, and OECD Pillar II compliance processes, coordinating data collection and validation, reviewing advisor deliverables, challenging assumptions as appropriate, and communicating key impacts to stakeholders.
- Maintain tax calendars, filing schedules, and supporting documentation to ensure timely compliance.
Tax Provision & Financial Reporting
- Coordinate the global income tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740, including data collection, review of external provider deliverables, analysis of results, and communication of key tax impacts to management.
- Analyze effective tax rates, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, and tax account reconciliations
- Prepare tax-related forecasts and provide variance analyses explaining key drivers and trends.
- Monitor tax balances and ensure accuracy of tax-related financial statement disclosures.
- Prepare cash tax forecasts and analyze projected tax payments to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Tax Planning & Analysis
Conduct tax research and modeling to evaluate domestic and international planning opportunities, including legislative changes, business initiatives, tax credits, incentives, and other tax-efficient strategies.
Business Partnership & Operational Excellence
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Supply Chain, Operations, and external advisors on tax matters, including transfer pricing governance, compliance processes, strategic initiatives, and operational changes
- Support tax audits and information requests from tax authorities.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardization of tax data collection and reporting, including support for the Company's ERP transformation from JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) to SAP.
- Enhance tax reporting and decision-support capabilities through the use of data analytics, automation, visualization tools, and ERP systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- CPA and/or Master's degree in Accounting, Tax, or related fields preferred
- Minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA required
Minimum 5 years of work experience that includes income tax, public accounting, and/or multinational corporate tax experience required
Proven knowledge of U.S. corporate income taxation and ASC 740 income tax accounting and reporting required
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical, organizational, communication, and project management capabilities required
- Knowledge of international tax concepts, including NCTI (formerly GILTI), FDDEI (formerly FDII), foreign tax credits, transfer pricing, and Pillar II preferred
Experience with OneSource Tax Provision, SAP, and tax technology solutions, including AI, automation, and analytics tools preferred
- Must be located within commutable distance of Coopersburg, PA to accommodate a 5-day in-office schedule
- Willingness to travel 10% to 20%
