Project Manager, Scientific Programs and Executive Facilitation

The Project Manager will lead high-visibility scientific, public health, and executive advisory initiatives supporting senior federal leadership. This role requires a strong background in managing scientific studies and research-based projects, facilitating complex discussions with scientists and technical experts, and preparing executive-level communications for senior leaders, including senior government and agency decision-makers.

The ideal candidate is a confident facilitator, strategic communicator, and organized project leader who can translate complex scientific and technical information into clear recommendations, briefings, and action plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scientific studies, literature reviews, analyses, reports, white papers, and briefing materials.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, working groups, and strategic planning sessions with scientists, executives, and government stakeholders.
  • Support scientific review and clearance processes, including coordination among authors, reviewers, SMEs, and leadership.
  • Prepare executive communications, including briefings, talking points, summaries, recommendations, and presentations.
  • Translate complex scientific findings into clear, actionable information for senior leaders and non-technical audiences.
  • Engage and brief senior executives, scientists, senior government scientists, and cross-agency stakeholders.
  • Track deliverables, timelines, risks, issues, decisions, and action items.
  • Develop project plans, communication protocols, status reports, and monthly activity reports.
  • Support consensus-building across diverse scientific, operational, and executive stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree e.g. MPH, MBA or higher required given scientific nature of the work
  • 10+ years managing scientific, public health, and policy-related projects from planning through delivery.
  • Experience managing scientific, public health, health policy, or research-focused projects.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings with scientists, technical experts, executives, and senior government stakeholders.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including briefing development and senior-level presentations.
  • Experience translating scientific or technical content for leadership audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
  • Strong writing, organization, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting CDC, HHS, or another federal health agency.
  • Experience working with senior government scientists, senior federal leaders, or executive offices.
  • Background in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, science policy, public administration, or a related field.
  • PMP or similar project management certification preferred.
  • Master's degree or higher preferred.
