Senior IMS Scheduler w/Secret Clearance

A3 Consulting is seeking a Senior IMS Scheduler to maintain and mature an integrated master schedule for a complex federal mission-support program. If you'd enjoy focusing on schedule logic, milestone traceability, dependency validation, critical path analysis, schedule realism, and executive-level schedule reporting, this role is for you!
In this role you will:
  • Maintain and update integrated master schedules, milestone structures, dependencies, assumptions, and critical path logic.
  • Review schedule artifacts, predecessor/successor relationships, constraints, durations, status dates, milestone evidence, and supporting assumptions.
  • Validate schedule logic and identify risks such as missing dependencies, dangling logic, hard constraints, stale status dates, unsupported milestone claims, unrealistic durations, and sequencing conflicts.
  • Assess whether reported dates, assumptions, execution plans, and milestone statuses are realistic based on available evidence and cross-functional inputs.
  • Support schedule health checks, schedule management plans, schedule update packages, and recurring schedule reviews.
  • Identify acceleration, resequencing, tradeoff, and minimum-viable implementation options for client consideration.
  • Maintain traceability between schedule updates, source evidence, milestone owners, dependency logic, risk status, and downstream reporting products.
  • Coordinate with risk, resource, and dashboard personnel to align schedule posture with risk posture, dependency status, and executive reporting.
  • Prepare concise schedule analysis, executive summaries, issue papers, and recommendations for client review.
  • Support schedule-related inputs to risk registers, bottleneck registers, governance packages, decision logs, and management reports.
  • Participate in transition and knowledge-transfer activities to understand current schedule structure, assumptions, known issues, update cadence, and repository locations.
  • Recommend corrective actions when schedule products no longer support decision-quality oversight.
  • Ensure schedule updates are performed in accordance with approved client direction, version-control practices, and repository requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, Data/Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of integrated master scheduling, critical path analysis, program scheduling, project controls, or complex program planning experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Project experience required.
  • Experience maintaining IMS logic, dependencies, baselines, constraints, milestones, assumptions, schedule risk, and executive reporting.
  • Experience performing schedule health checks, critical path analysis, variance analysis, and schedule realism assessments.
  • Ability to identify schedule drivers, sequencing conflicts, dependency gaps, and acceleration opportunities.
  • Ability to translate technical schedule data into clear, concise, client-ready analysis and recommendations.
  • Experience coordinating with program managers, technical teams, risk analysts, dashboard/reporting analysts, and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, or similar collaboration/reporting environments preferred.
  • PMI-SP, PMP, or equivalent scheduling/program management certification preferred
Security Clearance:
  • Active Secret clearance or higher required.
Location:
  • Remote (DC Metro Area)
Salary Range:
