JOB SUMMARY

Corvus Consulting, LLC is seeking a Senior Acquisition Consultant – Aviation to support the Office of the Secretary of War Acquisition (OSW(A)) Air Platforms and Weapons (APW) office at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. This position provides a broad range of support to senior Government clients focused on mission engineering, acquisition strategy, executive-level engagements, and high‑visibility portfolio oversight for air platforms and weapons systems.

The Consultant will develop high-level products and coordinated messaging to support streamlined weapons acquisition guidance for the F‑35 Lightning II and other aviation programs. This position requires strong independence, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to operate within a fast‑paced, senior‑leader environment. The Consultant must be capable of managing multiple competing priorities, supporting executive forums, and producing accurate, timely, high‑impact acquisition products.

This position is onsite at the Pentagon (Arlington, VA) and requires close coordination across Services, OSW leadership, OUSW(A&S), Joint Staff stakeholders, and other acquisition organizations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, mission‑driven professional with deep experience supporting senior leaders, navigating complex acquisition environments, and guiding multi‑stakeholder decision processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead executive‑level briefings within OSW and the Military Services.
  • Coordinate with Service Acquisition Offices to address recurring requests for information from ASD(A), USW(A&S), OSW principals, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Produce integrated, coordinated, and timely appraisals of APW portfolio programs by reviewing reports, studies, analyses, and preparing observations and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Develop executive‑level forums, presentations, and point papers, including routing documents for coordination, resolving comments, and finalizing approved versions.
  • Review key acquisition documents and provide objective assessments regarding content quality, statutory compliance, and adherence to acquisition best practices.
  • Coordinate with OUSW(A&S), OSW, and Joint Staff Stakeholders regarding acquisition and sustainment decisions and documentation.
  • Schedule and manage products for senior leader meetings and acquisition decision forums for the Director, APW; DASW(PWPM); ASW(A); and USW(A&S).
  • Maintain points of contact lists across the Services for APW portfolio programs.
  • Maintain communication with Service requirements officers related to fleet requirements and cross‑platform integration.
  • Support acquisition requirements implementation by obtaining analytical products needed for formal requirements documents and subsequent acquisition strategies.
  • Prepare correspondence packages and responses to APW taskers including Congressional reports, GAO inquiries, DoD IG requests, and other required program reporting.
  • Provide support for contractual training, special projects, proposals, data calls, and other recurring activities.
  • Represent DASW(PWPM) during recurring bi‑weekly forums to provide updates on Financial Improvement Audit Readiness Corrective Action Program efforts.
  • Provide ongoing staff coordination between OUSW(A&S), Industrial Base Policy (IBP), and the F‑35 Joint Program Office regarding notifications received through CFIUS.
  • Maintain high‑quality executive communication materials using the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Active Top Secret (SCI Eligible) security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years communicating with senior leaders within the Department of the Air Force or DoD equivalent.
  • 5+ years of DoD acquisition program support experience.
  • 5+ years of air warfare subject matter expertise, including knowledge of air warfare technology, systems engineering, and operational capabilities.
  • Experience navigating competing interests using negotiation, problem‑solving, and resilience while meeting organizational and regulatory requirements.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the F‑35 Lightning II Program.
  • DAWIA or industry‑equivalent certification in program management, contracting, or systems engineering.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for developing executive‑level policies, guidance, and correspondence.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis for senior decision makers.
  • Expertise using Microsoft Office Suite to produce executive‑level briefing materials, presentations, and point papers.
  • Experience employing electronic tools to support staffing actions and senior leader decision processes.
  • Experience serving on a Service acquisition headquarters staff or major weapon system program office.
  • Experience planning and coordinating medium and large‑scale aviation events or conferences involving DoD stakeholders, international partners, and industry executives.
