Position Description
This is a responsible professional position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. Specific duties include testing, psychological evaluation, and diagnostic services, as well as counseling an assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher-level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in correctional environment. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to work in high pressure and emergency response situations.

Major/Essential Functions
- Mental health screening and assessment - Completes timely and clinically sound mental health screenings and assessments using approved tools.
- Manage patient caseload - Effectively manages an assigned caseload by providing consistent clinical contact, monitoring progress, and updating treatment plans as needed.
- Facilitate counseling sessions - Facilitates individual and group therapy counseling sessions that are appropriate for the patient population.
- Documentation - Completes all clinical documentation accurately and objectively, within the required timeframes.
- Crisis Intervention - Responds promptly and effectively to mental health crises, using appropriate clinical intervention. Ensures safety and stability of the individual and documents actions completely.
- Other duties as assigned - Willingly performs all other assignments as directed by superior.
