Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to support financial operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Metairie, Louisiana. This role will oversee core accounting activities, strengthen budgeting and reconciliation practices, and help improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong controllership expertise, hands-on QuickBooks Desktop and Online experience, and the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily and monthly cash reconciliation activities to ensure balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

• Oversee budget development and coordination efforts, including tracking actual performance against forecasts and explaining financial variances.

• Prepare and review journal entries, month-end close tasks, and related accounting records to support timely financial reporting.

• Produce monthly financial reports that provide clear insight into operating results and support business decision-making.

• Manage tax account reconciliations and help maintain organized, accurate financial documentation for compliance purposes.

• Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend or implement automation solutions to improve productivity and control.

• Support the ongoing use of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online for accounting operations, reporting, and record maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting role with broad controllership responsibilities.
• Strong background in cash reconciliations, budget oversight, and variance analysis.
• Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and managing month-end close activities.
• Ability to create accurate month-end reports and interpret financial results effectively.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
• Experience reconciling tax-related accounts and maintaining reliable financial records.
• Familiarity with process automation tools or exposure to AI-driven accounting solutions is preferred.

Compensation

$50.00-$65.00 Hourly
