Full Charge Bookkeeper
We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to support daily accounting operations for a construction-focused business in Mentor, Ohio. This position will oversee core financial activities, maintain accurate records, and coordinate closely with project teams as well as an external accounting partner. The ideal candidate brings strong bookkeeping expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is a direct hire position with standard in office hours: Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for a workforce of approximately 15 to 20 employees using Paycor, ensuring accuracy and timely completion each pay period.
• Review and transfer employee time records from Procore into the payroll system so hours are properly captured and approved.
• Manage both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice handling, payment tracking, and collections follow-up.
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare tax-related documentation and year-end financial support materials for review by the company’s outside accounting firm.
• Assist with administration of 401(k) contributions and related payment activity to help keep employee benefit funding organized and current.
• Record and prepare weekly deposits while maintaining clear documentation for all cash receipts and related transactions.
• Partner with project managers and estimators to track change orders and confirm financial impacts are reflected accurately in job records.
• Support contract and subcontract documentation workflows, including payment coordination for subcontractor obligations.
• Maintain organized bookkeeping records in QuickBooks and provide reliable financial support across ongoing construction operations.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in full charge bookkeeping with responsibility for end-to-end accounting functions.
• Practical knowledge of payroll processing
• Strong working background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience using QuickBooks for day-to-day bookkeeping and financial record maintenance.
• Ability to prepare year-end tax support information and coordinate effectively with external accounting professionals.
• Familiarity with construction accounting practices, including job-related cost tracking, contracts, and subcontractor payments.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy.
Compensation
