Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a construction and contractor environment in Maple Grove, Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage close activities, maintain ledger accuracy, and ensure financial records are complete and reliable. The role will play a key part in strengthening day-to-day accounting processes through careful analysis, reconciliations, and timely reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure accurate financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation to maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and verifying proper classification of transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis to identify variances, research issues, and support clean financial statements.
• Complete bank reconciliations by matching cash activity, investigating exceptions, and ensuring balances are fully supported.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information, clarify accounting questions, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Assist with audit readiness by organizing reconciliations, journal support, and other accounting documentation as needed.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience working in a Senior Accountant or similar accounting role.• Strong hands-on background with month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Ability to prepare accurate journal entries and supporting reconciliations with minimal oversight.
• Experience performing detailed account reconciliations and resolving balance discrepancies efficiently.
• Solid understanding of bank reconciliation procedures and cash account analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills in deadline-driven environments.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across accounting and business teams.
Compensation
