Legal Secretary - Hybrid
One our BEST Law Firm clients, a prominent, well-established defense law firm in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join its team. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive litigation support to two attorneys
- Prepare, revise, format, and proofread pleadings, correspondence, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
- Handle State and Federal court filings and e-filing
- Maintain attorney calendars and accurately track court dates, hearings, depositions, and litigation deadlines
- Coordinate depositions, meetings, court reporters, experts, and other case-related matters
- Assist with discovery, document production, and case organization
- Prepare attorneys for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Maintain electronic and physical case files
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Provide additional administrative and litigation support as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience; defense litigation experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of California State and Federal court procedures and filing requirements
- Excellent calendaring and deadline-management skills
- Strong proofreading, formatting, and document-production abilities
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document/case management systems

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting defense civil litigation matters in a legal secretary or legal assistant capacity.
• Demonstrated experience with court filings in both federal and state jurisdictions.
• Strong calendaring skills with the ability to monitor deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in e-filing and general litigation support technology, including document and calendar management systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and sound time management in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Ability to produce high-quality legal correspondence and documents with careful attention to formatting and detail.
• Dependable and team-oriented approach to supporting attorneys and collaborating with office staff.
