Patient Financial Access Facilitator
Responsibilities:
• Manage patient arrival and departure workflows by completing registration, updating account details, and confirming visit information before and after appointments.
• Gather and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and financial data across required applications to support timely service and clean claim submission.
• Arrange new, follow-up, and revised appointments by matching patient needs with provider availability, visit type, and appointment length.
• Verify patient identity and follow established safety and fraud-prevention procedures to protect both patients and the organization.
• Review insurance coverage, confirm eligibility, document benefits correctly, and collect applicable copays or outstanding balances in line with policy.
• Obtain required forms, signatures, and authorizations while recording all relevant account activity with a high level of accuracy.
• Assist patients who need additional support, including individuals with language, hearing, or accessibility needs, to help ensure smooth access to care.
• Monitor open scheduling opportunities such as wait lists or recall lists and help fill available appointment slots efficiently.
• Work closely with clinical staff and other departments to coordinate appointment logistics, resolve registration issues, and support service quality.
Qualifications:
• Experience in patient registration, scheduling, financial clearance, medical front desk operations, or a related healthcare access function.• Working knowledge of insurance verification, payer requirements, benefit review, billing support, and point-of-service collections.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to remain detail-oriented in a busy patient-facing environment.
• Ability to use multiple software applications and online tools accurately for scheduling, documentation, and account review.
• Understanding of confidentiality standards, healthcare policies, and procedures related to patient information and access services.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative teams while managing changing priorities throughout the day.
• English communication proficiency required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
Compensation
