Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day invoice processing and payment activities for a contract assignment in Olympia, Washington. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial details, and comfortable managing multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will help maintain timely vendor payments, ensure proper expense classification, and contribute to efficient accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and approval before processing payments.
• Assign the correct general ledger or expense codes to invoices and other payable transactions.
• Prepare and process vendor payments through methods such as ACH transfers and scheduled check disbursements.
• Coordinate regular payment cycles to ensure obligations are met within established deadlines.
• Reconcile payable records and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate financial data.
• Communicate with internal teams and vendors to resolve billing questions and payment issues.
• Maintain organized documentation for invoices, payment activity, and supporting records.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support function.
• Working knowledge of invoice review, account coding, and payment processing procedures.
• Familiarity with ACH transactions and check run administration.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume of financial entries accurately.
• Proficiency in basic accounting systems and standard office software.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Compensation

$24.70-$28.60 Hourly
