Grant Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate proposal preparation and submission activities for sponsored projects, ensuring deadlines, documentation, and sponsor requirements are met.
• Support both pre-award and post-award grant administration tasks across a portfolio of externally funded awards.
• Work closely with senior research administration staff to assist with budgeting, fund setup, reporting support, and award tracking.
• Review sponsored project activity for compliance with federal regulations and institutional grant management standards.
• Provide day-to-day administrative and financial support related to grant and fund administration within a higher education environment.
• Help organize project coordination efforts across research administration processes, including communication with internal stakeholders and follow-up on required materials.
• Contribute to expanded grants management coverage as team needs shift during a planned staff leave.
• Use systems and tools such as Cognos, Brio, and Excel to monitor grant data, prepare analyses, and support financial oversight.
Qualifications:
• Experience managing sponsored funding activities in both pre-award and post-award environments.• Working knowledge of federal guidelines governing research grants and sponsored programs.
• Background in grant management, fund administration, or government grant support within higher education.
• Ability to provide strong proposal support while adapting to a broader research administration function over time.
• Familiarity with research grants operations and project coordination responsibilities in an academic setting.
• Proficiency with Excel and reporting tools such as Cognos and Brio.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and support several stakeholders effectively.
Compensation
