Junior Staff Accountant

We are looking for an entry-level Staff Accountant to join a public accounting team on a long-term contract basis. This position will provide hands-on support during tax and audit season by helping maintain organized financial records and assisting with core accounting activities for a range of clients. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment and brings practical experience with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and tax-related support.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain client financial records by processing bookkeeping activity, recording transactions, and keeping documentation current and accurate.

• Assist with the preparation of corporate and sales tax filings by organizing financial data and supporting the completion of required schedules and workpapers.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to help ensure accurate reporting.

• Prepare and post journal entries while supporting month-end and period-end accounting tasks.

• Use both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop to manage accounting records and client books effectively.

• Support audit and tax season workflows by prioritizing assignments, meeting deadlines, and responding to accounting requests in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with team members to uphold accuracy across client accounts and maintain reliable financial information.
