Position Description

Employees in this classification provide support in an assigned research laboratory. Duties include performing standard laboratory experiments and procedures on specimens from patients and/or experimental animals, routine maintenance and clean-up of the laboratory and caring for experimental animals. Work is performed under usual laboratory conditions. Some hazards may be present due to use of radioactive, carcinogenic or other potentially harmful substances.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Assist in conducting laboratory experiments, including cell culture, Western blotting, RT-qPCR, and ELISAs Standard lab equipment Daily 30 E Successful experiments.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure the availability of necessary supplies.
  • Conduct routine laboratory assays.
  • Participate in animal studies with mouse models of breast cancer.
  • Contribute to data collection, entry, and analysis of experimental results.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and manuscripts related to the research findings.
  • Perform other research-related duties as assigned by the principal investigator (PI).


Required Qualifications

High school graduation. No previous work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with molecular biology techniques, cell culture, or working knowledge with animal models of cancer is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of the roles of post-translational modifications in cancers.
