Crystal Reports Consultant

We are looking for a Crystal Reports Consultant to join a Contract engagement supporting a reporting environment tied to legacy business systems. This role focuses on diagnosing reporting disruptions, restoring dependable report performance, and partnering with technical stakeholders to stabilize production outputs. The position is based in Beverly, Massachusetts, though remote collaboration may be involved depending on project needs.

Responsibilities:
• Investigate report failures by isolating the causes of database connection and data retrieval problems within Crystal Reports environments.
• Examine report-level settings, connection details, server configurations, and authentication methods to uncover issues affecting report execution.
• Assess how server platform changes and Azure-hosted infrastructure may be impacting report behavior and compatibility.
• Resolve problems related to data sources, drivers, permissions, and access controls to restore consistent reporting functionality.
• Coordinate with internal technology teams to run tests, confirm fixes, and verify that reports operate correctly after remediation.
• Record technical findings, corrective actions, and recommended next steps to support long-term environment stability.
• Provide practical guidance to internal staff at the end of the engagement so knowledge is retained after project completion.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience supporting and troubleshooting Crystal Reports, including legacy Crystal Reports XI environments.
• Proven ability to diagnose report connectivity issues involving databases, drivers, authentication, and service accounts.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure infrastructure in support of application or reporting environments.
• Familiarity with Windows Server platforms and the impact of version changes on legacy application behavior.
• Strong understanding of SQL and reporting-related data access concepts.
• Experience collaborating with technical teams to test fixes, validate outcomes, and document solutions.
• Background with related reporting and analytics tools such as SSRS or Microsoft Power BI is a plus.

Compensation

$70.00-$75.00 Hourly
