File Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented File Clerk to support a non-profit organization in Modesto, California through a Contract assignment. This position focuses on keeping physical and digital records organized, accessible, and up to date so staff can efficiently locate important information. The ideal candidate brings strong accuracy, dependable administrative support experience, and the ability to manage confidential documents with care.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain organized paper and electronic record systems to ensure documents are stored consistently and easy to access
• Sort, classify, and file incoming materials promptly while following established document handling procedures
• Locate and provide requested records to team members in a timely and accurate manner
• Scan, duplicate, and upload documentation into internal databases while preserving file quality and completeness
• Prepare file labels and apply appropriate categories so records are indexed correctly
• Review documents before filing to confirm required information is complete and properly arranged
• Move inactive records into archive storage and support secure disposal practices in line with company guidelines

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• At least 1 year of clerical, administrative, or office support experience preferred

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and prioritize multiple assignments

• Careful attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling records

• Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and with staff

• Experience using scanners, copiers, printers, and document filing systems is preferred

Compensation

$16.15-$18.70 Hourly
