Tax Manager or Supervisor
Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation and review of business and individual tax engagements, including work related to corporations, partnerships, trusts, nonprofit entities, and high-net-worth clients.
• Oversee monthly and periodic accounting activities such as general ledger maintenance, journal entry review, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
• Manage client relationships by serving as a trusted point of contact, identifying needs across tax, accounting, and advisory services, and delivering practical guidance.
• Supervise staff assignments and review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to help clients understand operating results and support informed business decisions.
• Use cloud-based accounting and tax applications, including Lacerte, QuickBooks, and similar platforms, to support efficient service delivery.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on complex client matters, workflow planning, and service improvements across assigned accounts.
• Contribute to advisory engagements by helping clients strengthen financial processes, reporting practices, and overall business operations.
Qualifications:
• Public accounting experience with tax as a primary area of responsibility.• Strong knowledge of business and individual tax preparation and review across multiple entity types.
• Background in accounting operations such as month-end close, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Ability to supervise, review, and mentor team members in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience working directly with clients and managing ongoing client relationships.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Lacerte, Xero, or other comparable accounting and tax software.
• Educational background in accounting or a closely related field.
• An adaptable, entrepreneurial approach with interest in supporting tax, accounting, and advisory needs across client accounts.
