Sr Accounting Team Lead
Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery for client engagements.
• Analyze year-over-year financial results to identify trends, explain variances, and highlight items requiring further review.
• Review accounting transactions in detail, ensuring entries are properly recorded and aligned with reporting requirements.
• Oversee work related to complex, high-value private and public client accounts, maintaining strong quality standards across deliverables.
• Prepare and review sales tax filings, payroll tax submissions, and annual 1099 reporting in accordance with deadlines and regulations.
• Support and provide direction to a small accounting team of up to five team members, helping prioritize work and resolve technical questions.
• Manage month-end activities, including general ledger review, journal entry oversight, and reconciliation completion.
• Perform and review bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate balances and strengthen financial controls.
Qualifications:
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level financial review and reporting responsibilities.• Demonstrated background preparing financial statements and supporting monthly close activities within a detail-focused accounting environment.
• Strong expertise in general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, including Desktop, Enterprise, Online, Premier, and Pro versions.
• Proficiency with additional accounting systems such as NetSuite and Sage, along with advanced Excel capabilities.
• Experience handling sales tax, payroll tax, and 1099 processing for multiple clients or business entities.
• Ability to work with complex multi-million-dollar private and public accounts while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Preferred qualification includes ORG certification or an advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Compensation
