Inventory Clerk

We are looking for an Inventory Clerk to join a design studio on a Contract basis. In this role, you will help keep textile samples, materials, and inventory records organized so the design team can work efficiently and maintain a well-organized studio environment. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with hands-on inventory tasks, and able to support both daily operations and visiting clients courteously.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the organization of the textile sample storage area so materials are clearly labeled, neatly arranged, and easy for the team to locate.
• Enter newly received samples into the inventory system by scanning, cataloging, and updating records with accuracy.
• Monitor stock levels of samples and related materials, and coordinate replenishment when supplies begin to run low.
• Assist designers by pulling, preparing, and organizing sample selections for presentations and client meetings.
• Welcome studio visitors in a courteous and attentive manner while maintaining an orderly front-facing environment.
• Receive incoming deliveries, verify contents, and place materials in the appropriate storage locations.
• Use ladders safely to access elevated shelving and keep stored items organized across different storage heights.
• Provide day-to-day support on additional inventory, operational, or administrative tasks as priorities shift.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in inventory control, stockroom support, office organization, or a related position is preferred.
• Strong organizational abilities with careful attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
• Comfort working in a design-oriented setting; interest in textiles, interiors, or furnishings is a plus.
• Ability to lift boxes, remain on your feet for portions of the day, and safely use ladders when needed.
• Confidence using digital tools and willingness to learn inventory or sample tracking software quickly.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative, positive approach to working with team members and clients.
• Availability to work on-site in San Francisco, California.

Compensation

$20.90-$24.20 Hourly
