Supply Chain Planner
A client of ours is looking for a Supply Chain Planner for a contract role to develop and execute supply and production plans that support customer demand while optimizing manufacturing capacity, inventory levels, and operational performance. This role partners closely with manufacturing, operations, customer service, sales, procurement, transportation, and supply chain leadership to ensure efficient production, inventory management, and customer fulfillment. The ideal candidate is analytical, solution-oriented, and experienced in navigating complex manufacturing and supply chain environments.
Responsibilities of Supply Chain Planner
- Develop and execute supply and production plans that balance customer demand, inventory targets, manufacturing capacity, and operational efficiency.
- Manage production planning across multiple facilities while addressing material, labor, transportation, and capacity constraints.
- Partner with manufacturing, operations, and scheduling teams to align production priorities and ensure plan execution.
- Identify supply risks, capacity challenges, and production disruptions, implementing solutions to minimize service impacts.
- Support customer order fulfillment by collaborating with Sales, Customer Service, Transportation, and Procurement teams.
- Communicate supply constraints, production impacts, demand changes, and recovery plans to key stakeholders.
- Participate in Supply Review, S& OP, and IBP processes by providing supply outlooks, capacity assessments, and recommendations.
- Conduct scenario planning and recommend actions to address inventory, capacity, and service challenges.
- Analyze supply chain and manufacturing data to identify trends, improve planning accuracy, and support business decisions.
- Develop and maintain planning metrics, reports, and dashboards to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Skills/Qualifications of Supply Chain Planner
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Analytics, or related field; equivalent experience considered. APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in Supply Planning, Production Planning, Materials Management, Demand Planning, Replenishment Planning, or related supply chain functions.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations, multi-site production environments, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of supply planning, inventory management, production scheduling, capacity planning, and end-to-end supply chain processes.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret data and drive business recommendations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, ERP systems, and supply planning tools.
- Preferred experience with Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SQL, 0/9 Solutions, S& OP/IBP processes, and advanced planning or scheduling systems.
- Manufacturing, industrial products, chemicals, metals, building materials, or related industry experience preferred.
