Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This position will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing core accounting entries, and helping ensure the integrity of the general ledger. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage routine month-end activities with accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, allocations, and other adjustments needed to maintain accurate financial statements.

• Review general ledger activity and help keep account balances complete, organized, and properly supported.

• Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Assist with month-end and period-end close activities by compiling supporting documentation and posting necessary entries.

• Support indirect and corporate tax-related accounting tasks, including sales tax processes and related reporting requirements.

• Contribute to the preparation of financial records and schedules used in corporate tax return support.

• Maintain accounting documentation and ensure records are aligned with internal policies and reporting standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role within a detail-focused business environment.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, accruals, allocations, adjusting entries, and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on experience performing account reconciliations and researching discrepancies.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and financial support for corporate tax return preparation.
• Ability to work accurately with detailed financial data while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and standard spreadsheet tools used for reporting and analysis.
