Accounts Receivable Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Process incoming payments, including ACH transactions and daily check receipts, and record them accurately in the accounting system.
• Apply cash to open invoices and review payment details to ensure customer accounts remain current and properly documented.
• Conduct routine follow-up on past-due balances through thorough collection outreach while maintaining positive business relationships.
• Communicate with vendors and external contacts to clarify payment activity, resolve discrepancies, and support timely account resolution.
• Reconcile accounts receivable records by comparing ledger activity, payment postings, and outstanding invoice balances.
• Assist with billing-related tasks and investigate issues that affect invoice accuracy or payment application.
• Monitor receivables activity and escalate unresolved account issues when additional review or action is needed.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable or a closely related accounting support role.• Working knowledge of cash application, payment posting, and account reconciliation processes.
• Experience handling collections activity with a detail-oriented and customer-focused approach.
• Familiarity with billing functions and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Ability to manage daily payment transactions, including checks and ACH payments, with strong attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Proficiency with basic accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
