The Rochester plant plays a critical role in this mission, producing high-precision magnetics and assemblies that support both legacy programs and emerging technologies. The B Shift Production Supervisor ensures that this facility delivers throughput, efficiency, and performance our customers depend on.

Job purpose

The B Shift Production Supervisor drives high throughput, efficient, and reliable production performance across the Rochester manufacturing plant. This role is accountable for delivering operational excellence through disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and strong leadership of production employees to meet internal production requirements and external customer commitments.

Duties and responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead daily production operations to achieve high throughput and consistent performance across all manufacturing processes while maintaining safety, quality and on-time delivery.
  • Support completion of production orders in coordination with A Shift Production Supervisor and Site leader.
  • Convert production plans into clear priorities that meet internal assembly schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Allocate labor, equipment, and materials effectively to reduce bottlenecks and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Track production performance, analyze delays or inefficiencies, and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Lead and sustain initiatives such as Standard Work, 5S, Kanban, and visual management.
  • Reduce lead times, eliminate waste, improve facility organization, and strengthen operational stability.

Safety and Quality

  • Champions a proactive safety culture, enforcing safe work practices, reporting incidents and partnering with EHS to resolve hazards and strengthen compliance.
  • Partner with quality team in conducting root cause analysis for quality failures and implement corrective actions. Aid in quality audits.

People Leadership and Culture

  • Hire, train, coach, motivate, and develop production team.
  • Set expectations for work performance and behaviors. Closely manage performance and partner with Human Resources for any progressive discipline.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, engaged, and collaborative environment that encourages problem-solving and idea generation.

RMAs, scrap reduction, first-pass yield

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, business, industrial engineering or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in lean manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience operating within AS9100 (preferred) or ISO systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% for site or customer visits
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Working conditions

  • May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals. All required safety precautions provided.
  • Could work in areas with excessive noise with ear protection available.
  • Will work in both a manufacturing environment as well as an office environment

Physical requirements

  • Could require intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing.
  • Periodic lifting of materials and files up to 40 pounds.
