Overview

What We’re Looking For
As a Cloud System Administrator at CyberPoint, you will support the implementation, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of large-scale cloud and Hadoop environments supporting mission-critical systems. You will work across Linux infrastructure, distributes systems, cloud platforms and enterprise technologies to maintain reliable and high-performing environments.

This role is ideal for an experienced systems professional who is comfortable troubleshooting complex infrastructure at scale, automating administrative tasks through scripting and working collaboratively with technical teams to resolve challenging operational issues. You will also have opportunities to work with emerging technologies, including cloud-native platforms and AI/ML capabilities.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and monitor large-scale Hadoop and cloud computing environments, including clusters with more than 1,000 nodes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems supporting large-scale data storage and retrieval.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux operating systems and core infrastructure servies.
  • Manage Linux user and group accounts and support LDAP environments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network services including DHCP, DNS and TFTP.
  • Develop automation and administrative scripts using Bash, Perl, Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Implements and maintain configuration management solutions using tools such as Puppet and Salt.
  • Support Linux PXE and network provisioning processes, including Anaconda Kickstart configurations, TFTP images, RAID controller utilities and disk detection scripts.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and infrastructure issues using remote management tools such as VNC, serial over LAN and IPMI.
  • Perform BIOS-level configuration and support hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Support enterprise security and infrastructure technologies, including OpenSSL and Java keystores.
  • Work with distributed storage and database technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Cassandra, and object storage platforms.
  • Support cloud architecture and infrastructure within AWS environments.
  • Troubleshoot and support Kubernetes orchestration environments and Docker-based applications.
  • Monitor infrastructure and applications using logging, monitoring and observability tools.
  • Work within established mission-focused processes, standard operating procedures and team structures.
  • Collaborate with multiple technical groups to plan, coordinate and execute complex technical problems while seeking guidance from senior technical resources when appropriate.
  • Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Document technical processes, troubleshooting activities and infrastructure configurations.
This position is 100% onsite and requires an active TS/SCI+FSP Security Clearance.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need

  • US Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI + Full Scope Polygraph
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Linux operating systems, including management of user and group accounts and configuration of LDAP, DHCP, DNS and TFTP.
  • At least 3 years or experience developing software scripts using Bash, Perl, Python or similar scripting languages.
  • At least 1 year of experience managing and monitoring large Hadoop cluster with more than 1,000 nodes.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting large-scale cloud computing and distributed systems.
  • Experience with distributed data storage and retrieval technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Cassandra or object storage platforms.
  • Experience with Linux PXE/network provisioning, including kickstart, TFTP, RAID utilities and disk detection processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting systems using remote management technologies such as VNC, serial over LAN and IMPI.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and BIOS-level configuration.
  • Experience with enterprise security technologies such as OpenSSL and Java keystores.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain prior to start one of the following certifications:
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
    • AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
    • Comparable Hadoop/Cloud System Administrator or Cloud System/Service certification.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Advanced knowledge of SSH tunneling, dynamic SOCKS proxies and SSH-based utilities such as rsync, pdsh, pdcp and WInSCP.
  • Understanding of VLANs, port-channel bonding and Layer 2/Layer 3 network interactions.
  • Experience with software load balancers such as HAProxy or NGINX.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with log aggregation and monitoring tools such as Elasticsearch, Logstash, Filebeat, Grafana and rsyslog.
  • Experience with AWS cloud architecture and infrastructure.
  • Experience with large-scale web service environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and compliance best practices.
  • Experience with LLMs, Agentic AI and RAG frameworks.
