Position Description
Employees in this position are responsible for the maintenance of patient billing accounts and performing numerous related functions to accomplish this task; such as, patient registration, insurance follow-up, financial screening of unfunded patients, answering patient billing inquiries, collection of unpaid balances and posting of payments in the Regional Campus Business Office. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards and complies with all federal, state, and institutional guidelines.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of medical or general office experience OR Completion of related education or training and one year of experience.

Major/Essential Functions
- Analyze data to accurately reflect reimbursement amounts as per payor contracts using the Payor Contract Module.
- Review, analyze and processe contractual underpayment appeals, preparing written communication of the appeal, and providing completion on resolving the underpayments pertaining to payer contracts in a timely manner.
- Maintain fee schedules, serves as a resource for fee schedule clarification while responding to pricing requests, contract and reimbursement related question within established time frames.
- Monitor contract performance in terms of reimbursement, utilization and AR follow up issues.
- Analyze payments related to the No Surprises Act and the Independent Resolution process (IDR) and provide an appeal solution to successfully resolve the dispute.
- Assist with other projects, analyses, and duties as assigned by Director of Analytics and/or Managing Director of the business office.
- Work assigned tasks and stages via ETM and Epic.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of medical or general office experience OR Completion of related education or training and one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience faxing documents within a medical office.
- Experience and/or knowledge of medical insurance carriers and financially assisted government programs.
- Experience and/or knowledge of computing rate, ratio and percent, then producing graph drawings and interpretations.
