The Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a highly qualified Data Architect SME to support a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering innovative planning, operational, technical, analytical, and mission support capabilities in Tampa, FL. Candidate must already possess a TS/SCI security clearance in order to be considered.

Note: This position is part of a future contract opportunity pending award announcement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical authority for enterprise data architecture, establishing data management strategies, architectural standards, governance policies, and technical frameworks supporting Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), theater campaigns, operational planning, and enterprise decision-making.

  • Design and maintain enterprise data architectures that integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from operational, intelligence, logistics, personnel, financial, and external data sources into scalable, secure, and interoperable environments.

  • Develop enterprise data models, conceptual architectures, logical data models, metadata standards, and data integration strategies supporting organizational modernization and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Establish data governance frameworks addressing data quality, stewardship, ownership, lifecycle management, master data management (MDM), metadata management, and compliance with organizational policies and Department of Defense guidance.

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data integration solutions that support interoperability across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and distributed computing environments.

  • Develop architecture standards supporting data warehouses, data lakes, lake houses, operational data stores, and enterprise analytical environments.

  • Define enterprise data exchange standards, APIs, messaging architectures, and interoperability requirements supporting secure information sharing across Joint, interagency, coalition, and partner organizations.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, system architects, cybersecurity personnel, intelligence analysts, data scientists, and operational planners to ensure enterprise data solutions support mission objectives and operational requirements.

  • Evaluate enterprise data quality, consistency, completeness, accessibility, and security while recommending improvements to data management processes and technical architectures.

  • Develop data architecture roadmaps that align organizational capabilities with emerging technologies, cloud services, artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, and enterprise modernization initiatives.

  • Advise senior leadership on enterprise data strategy, architecture investments, technology modernization, data governance, and information management policies.

  • Develop executive-level technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, implementation plans, and decision-support products communicating enterprise data strategies and technical recommendations.

  • Mentor technical personnel and provide enterprise leadership on data architecture principles, governance practices, interoperability standards, and emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience designing enterprise data architectures, data integration solutions, data governance programs, or enterprise information management systems supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or large-scale enterprise environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Demonstrated experience designing enterprise data models, integration architectures, and cloud-based data platforms.

  • Experience establishing enterprise data governance, metadata management, and information management frameworks.

  • Experience advising senior leadership on enterprise architecture, digital transformation, or data modernization initiatives.

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of enterprise data architecture, information management, data governance, and systems integration principles.

  • Extensive experience designing relational, dimensional, graph, document, and NoSQL database architectures.

  • Experience with enterprise cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or hybrid cloud architectures.

  • Proficiency with enterprise data integration technologies, ETL/ELT processes, APIs, messaging frameworks, and data virtualization technologies.

  • Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.

  • Strong understanding of metadata management, master data management (MDM), data cataloging, and enterprise information governance.

  • Experience implementing security, privacy, and access control strategies supporting classified and sensitive data environments.

  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, including TOGAF, DoDAF, FEAF, or similar methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical, technical writing, executive communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • TOGAF, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.

  • Experience supporting Geographic Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, Intelligence Community, or Department of Defense enterprise modernization initiatives.

  • Experience supporting Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), command and control systems, operational planning environments, or enterprise intelligence systems.

  • Experience implementing artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital engineering, or advanced analytics architectures.

  • Experience with Palantir Foundry, Advana, Unified Data Library (UDL), Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or other enterprise data ecosystems.

  • Experience developing enterprise data strategies supporting digital transformation and large-scale organizational modernization.

Security Clearance:

  • Active TS/SCI required

Pay Range:

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00
