Job Description:

Join our Assembly Team to help contribute to our organization by assembling high quality tools in a cost effective and safe manner, meet production targets and actively participate in improving plant practices and procedures. ITW Construction provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. With products manufactured at locations around the globe serving markets in North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia, the Global Tool Unit (GTU) is a part of ITW's Construction Segment. The GTU innovates, develops, and manufactures through our Customer Back Innovation process best-in-class Power Fastening Systems for the global construction market. Our highly differentiated tools are specified to be used in a variety of applications including wood framing, wood trim, and steel to concrete installations. Tools, and related fasteners, account for a significant portion of total segment revenues.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 years old

  • 1 year of related assembly experience preferred

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety guidelines.

  • Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids and be able to perform simple math.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area where under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses with side shields and gloves. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures. Industrial lighting provided. May shift from one station to another during the assembly process. The noise level in the work environment is usually normal/moderate.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use both hands to assemble, carry boxes/bins, tools, and components; to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Job rotation is variable for periods of 30 minutes up to 4 hours. Occasionally exposed to fumes, oils, and adhesives. Ability to operate air and hand tools and lift to 35 lbs. Ability to sit and stand as needed or alternate positions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. PPE required includes ANSI-related safety shoes, safety glasses, and some areas require hearing protection and gloves.

Compensation Information:

The hourly pay for this position is $18.90. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. The company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
