Procurement Specialist
We are looking for a Procurement/Purchasing Specialist to support construction and capital initiatives in North Palm Beach, Florida through a Contract position. This role will oversee sourcing, purchasing, and supplier engagement while helping project teams maintain cost discipline and schedule alignment. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial judgment, experience managing agreements and bid activity, and the ability to work closely with finance, operations, and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Direct purchasing activity for construction-related and capital improvement work, from sourcing through order placement and fulfillment.
• Build and manage supplier partnerships, ensuring pricing remains competitive and vendor documentation, insurance records, and compliance materials stay current.
• Lead commercial negotiations and administer agreements with subcontractors and vendors to support project needs and reduce contractual risk.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, track committed and actual spend, and provide reporting that supports cost control and planning decisions.
• Coordinate competitive bid events by developing scopes, issuing RFPs and RFQs, evaluating responses, and recommending award decisions.
• Review contract terms and procurement packages to identify exposures, clarify requirements, and support sound purchasing decisions.
• Establish purchasing approaches that improve efficiency, measure results through key performance indicators, and strengthen overall procurement performance.
• Partner with construction, finance, and cross-functional teams to align procurement activity with project timelines, business priorities, and operational requirements.
• Guide team members on procurement procedures, tools, and best practices to promote consistency and effective execution.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in corporate procurement, preferably supporting construction, facilities, or capital project environments.• Strong knowledge of purchase order workflows, buying processes, and day-to-day procurement operations.
• Demonstrated success negotiating contracts, pricing, and commercial terms with vendors and subcontractors.
• Experience managing RFPs, RFQs, bid evaluations, and scope documentation.
• Ability to analyze budgets, costs, and financial data to support forecasting and reporting.
• Solid understanding of vendor compliance requirements, including insurance certificates and contract documentation.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with project teams, finance partners, and external suppliers.
