Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a leave assignment in Florida. This contract position is ideal for an accounting specialist who can independently manage the full accounts payable cycle in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong hands-on experience with invoice processing, payment administration, and account coding, along with confidence using Peachtree software.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the complete accounts payable process from invoice receipt through final payment and record reconciliation.
• Review and assign accurate general ledger codes to invoices to ensure proper financial tracking and reporting.
• Process vendor payments through ACH transactions and scheduled check runs while maintaining payment accuracy and timeliness.
• Verify invoice details, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with vendors or internal contacts to address payment-related questions.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records within Peachtree and support accurate documentation for audit and accounting purposes.
• Monitor outstanding payables and help ensure obligations are completed in accordance with established deadlines and procedures.

Qualifications:

• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in accounts payable or broader accounting functions.
• Demonstrated ability to handle full-cycle accounts payable responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Practical experience with account coding and high-volume invoice processing.
• Working knowledge of ACH payments and check run procedures.
• Proficiency with Peachtree accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• A college degree is not required for this opportunity.

Compensation

$23.75-$27.50 Hourly
