Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Marietta, Georgia. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating close activities, and ensuring day-to-day transactional processes run smoothly. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and payroll administration, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end closing activities by preparing entries, reviewing balances, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Maintain the general ledger by recording and analyzing transactions across a range of accounting areas.

• Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and verify accuracy before posting.

• Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Complete bank reconciliations regularly to confirm cash activity and investigate outstanding items.

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and collections follow-up.

• Oversee billing activities to help ensure invoices are issued accurately and in accordance with customer requirements.

• Process payroll through Paychex, including review of earnings, deductions, bonus and calculations of commissions

• Track labor, costs, materials and subcontractors for job costing, including project profitability and contract requirements

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a senior-level or comparable accounting role.
• Hands-on experience managing month-end close processes and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
• Strong working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliation procedures.
• Experience supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Familiarity with billing processes and payroll administration, including Paychex payroll.
• Ability to handle bonus and commission-related calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$46.71-$54.09 Hourly
