Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Los Angeles, California on a Long-term Contract basis. This position will contribute to core accounting operations, support accurate financial reporting, and help maintain strong controls across general ledger and inventory-related activities. The ideal candidate brings solid accounting knowledge, experience in a manufacturing setting, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities:
• Record and submit journal entries accurately and in a timely manner to support daily and month-end accounting activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts while assisting with the monthly close process to ensure reliable financial data.
• Contribute to inventory accounting and cost accounting tasks by tracking transactions and helping maintain accurate product cost information.
• Review manufacturing costs and investigate variances to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities for improved financial visibility.
• Help prepare financial statements and internal management reports by organizing data and supporting reporting deadlines.
• Maintain well-documented accounting records and provide supporting materials during internal and external audit reviews.
• Partner with operations and supply chain teams to address financial questions, improve reporting accuracy, and support business decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and production variance analysis.
• Understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return processes.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and maintain organized supporting documentation.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation

$31.66-$36.66 Hourly
