Purchaser
Responsibilities:
• Lead purchasing activities for raw materials, mechanical parts, electrical items, pneumatic components, fasteners, and production-related supplies needed for ongoing operations and project work.
• Evaluate suppliers by reviewing pricing, quality standards, reliability, and delivery performance to support informed sourcing decisions.
• Solicit and assess quotations, then partner with leadership to negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, and delivery commitments.
• Create, update, and track purchase orders in the ERP system to help ensure materials and services arrive according to production schedules.
• Communicate proactively with vendors regarding order status, shortages, schedule changes, and delivery concerns while resolving discrepancies tied to receipts and invoices.
• Build and maintain productive supplier relationships, including supporting vendor reviews, performance improvement efforts, and corrective actions when necessary.
• Work with manufacturing, inventory, engineering, and project teams to align purchasing plans with demand, stock levels, and business priorities.
• Contribute to cost analysis, budgeting support, forecasting, and quotation preparation while identifying opportunities to reduce spend and improve inventory efficiency.
• Prepare purchasing reports and maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, and transactional data in support of compliance and management reporting.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment is required.• Experience buying some or all of the following is required: raw materials such as steel or aluminum, cylinders, fasteners, electrical components, machine parts, or building and production supplies.
• Working knowledge of an ERP system is required.
• Strong ability to manage vendor relationships with clear communication, organization, and follow-through.
• Experience with supplier pricing, contract terms, and commercial negotiations.
• Familiarity with purchase order administration, inventory coordination, and procurement recordkeeping.
• Ability to assist with costing, forecasting, and quotation support activities.
• An associate degree is preferred.
Compensation
