Senior Accountant

We have a vacancy for a Senior Accountant position for a permanent opportunity in the Agriculture industry in the Porterville, California area. As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Located in Porterville, California, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Agriculture field.

What you get to do every single day

- Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

- Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

- Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management

- Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

- Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

- Partake in various department-wide initiatives

Qualifications:

- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

- Excellent oral and written communications skills

- Financial reconciliation experience desired

- Budget forecasting experience

- Deep understanding of Ad Hoc Reporting

- Month end closings experience required

- Skilled with ERP systems

- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

- Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload

- Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

- Strong attention to detail

- Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

- 3+ years of overall general accounting experience
