Sr. Buyer
Responsibilities:
• Build and refine demand forecasts for imported product groups by evaluating sales history, seasonal patterns, promotional activity, and current market conditions.
• Manage purchasing plans and inventory spending to maintain appropriate stock levels while supporting revenue targets and profitability goals.
• Coordinate purchase order activity for imported goods, taking into account international lead times, freight timing, and container utilization.
• Review inventory performance through key metrics such as turns, aging, and sell-through, then recommend adjustments to improve overall inventory health.
• Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep production schedules aligned with projected demand and business priorities.
• Monitor inbound shipments and collaborate with logistics partners to reduce the impact of transportation delays or supply disruptions.
• Identify excess or slow-moving inventory and propose actions such as pricing adjustments, promotional support, or exit strategies.
• Contribute to new product launches by recommending initial order quantities and allocation plans based on expected demand.
• Prepare recurring reports that highlight sales results, inventory position, and forecast accuracy for business review.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory planning, demand planning, or a closely related buying function.• Hands-on background managing imported products with extended overseas production and shipping timelines.
• Strong analytical ability with a track record of using data to guide purchasing and inventory decisions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables, forecasting tools, and detailed data analysis.
• Experience working in NetSuite is required.
• Ability to oversee multiple product categories in a fast-moving, high-volume environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Experience in the lighting industry, e-commerce, wholesale distribution, or similar product-driven environments is preferred.
