Bookkeeper
A busy company in the Montville area is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their growing company. This Bookkeeper will oversee day-to-day financial recordkeeping and provide dependable administrative support as needed. This Bookkeeper position is ideal for someone who can keep accounting data accurate and current while helping maintain smooth daily operations. The Bookkeeper role requires strong experience with QuickBooks (Online version a plus), a proactive approach to organization, and the ability to work effectively with an external accountant.
Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate daily financial records in QuickBooks Online, ensuring transactions are entered, reviewed, and categorized correctly.
• Handle the full accounts payable cycle by processing invoices, arranging payments, tracking vendor expenses, and reviewing outstanding balances.
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including preparing customer invoices, posting payments, following up on past-due accounts, and monitoring aging reports.
• Complete monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms, researching discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
• Support office operations by ordering supplies, coordinating mail, organizing digital documents, and assisting with general administrative tasks.
• Prepare organized financial documentation, receipts, and supporting records for submission to the external accountant.
• Help maintain clear and reliable bookkeeping processes that support accurate reporting and efficient month-end preparation.

Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a closely related accounting support role.• Strong hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Online in a day-to-day bookkeeping environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Ability to perform account reconciliations accurately and identify discrepancies efficiently.
• Solid organizational skills with careful attention to detail and follow-through.
• Comfortable balancing financial responsibilities with general office administrative support.
• Industry experience in construction or a related operational environment is preferred.
Compensation
