Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage essential accounting operations and ensure accurate financial activity across corporate and servicing functions. This role is central to the monthly close process, payment accuracy, account analysis, and reporting, while also helping improve controls and day-to-day accounting workflows. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to investigate issues and guide less experienced team members.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the accounting of customer and loan-related payments, ensuring transactions are posted correctly and complex exceptions are resolved in a timely manner.
• Manage month-end activities by preparing journal entries, recording accruals, and helping deliver an accurate and efficient close cycle.
• Complete detailed reconciliations for balance sheet and related accounts, researching variances and correcting discrepancies as needed.
• Produce recurring financial and operational reports and assist with analyzing fluctuations to support business decision-making.
• Monitor billing, invoicing, and payment processing activities to promote accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across workflows.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting procedures, strengthen internal controls, and improve the reliability of financial data.
• Provide audit support by organizing schedules, responding to requests, and supplying required documentation.
• Review accounting output prepared by entry-level staff and offer coaching to support quality and career development.
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $105,000.

Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting processes.• Background in mortgage, lending, or banking environments with demonstrated expertise in payment posting and cash application.
• Proven experience leading month-end close responsibilities, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
• Ability to analyze complex accounting issues, solve problems effectively, and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• High level of discretion when handling confidential financial information.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; comparable relevant experience will also be considered.
