Accounting Specialist

A well-established commercial real estate organization is seeking a contract accounting specialist to provide critical accounting support during an employee leave. The Accounting specialist will work closely with operations and other team members to help alleviate Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable responsibilities from the Manager. Given the urgent need and timelines, only candidates with prior property management experience and Yardi system experience will be considered for this short-term contract opportunity. Responsibilities for the Accounting Specialist:

• Process and code invoices in accordance with company procedures
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Apply cash receipts and tenant payments
• Assist with month-end close activities and expense accruals
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies
• Follow up with tenants regarding required reporting and payment inquiries
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely approvals and processing

The ideal accounting specialist will have commercial real estate experience or property monument accounting and must have recent Yardi experience.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with Yardi is required
• Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable experience required
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written required
