Construction Project Manager
Location: Orlando, FL
Schedule: On-site, 5 days per week | 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Long-Term Contract
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Job Captain to support architectural and construction projects from concept through completion. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who can successfully manage projects, coordinate internal and external teams, and ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
The successful candidate will collaborate across multiple departments, contribute to process improvements, and assist in driving project success through strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Collaboration & Team Coordination
- Collaborate regularly with Design, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
- Manage multiple project teams and outside consultants.
- Assist with the evaluation and development of design initiatives, including new options, styles, and details.
- Support architectural operations initiatives, including technology and process improvement projects.
- Share best practices, lessons learned, and solutions with team members.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and communicate recommendations to leadership.
Project Management & Quality Control
- Manage projects while meeting established schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee preparation and coordination of construction documents, revisions, and project-specific updates.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Review and interpret construction codes and requirements.
- Gather, analyze, and apply project-related information to support design and execution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Follow established workflows, standards, and development procedures.
- Exercise sound independent judgment and decision-making.
- Maintain project documentation and data management processes.
Leadership
- Support leadership with business analysis and project-related insights.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and enforcing departmental standards and procedures.
- Contribute to team growth and organizational success through collaboration and mentorship.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Required
- Associate Degree or equivalent vocational/technical certification.
- 5+ years of related architectural, construction, or drafting experience.
- 2+ years of project management and/or team leadership experience.
- Strong architectural and construction knowledge.
- Experience managing projects, schedules, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with:
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, consultants, and remote resources.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Bachelor of Architecture.
- Residential construction or residential architecture experience.
- Experience with:
- SketchUp
- BIM 360
- Strong ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and departments.
