Special Title Series (tenure eligible) Faculty Position – Department of Health & Clinical Sciences

The Human Health Sciences (HHS) program, Department of Health & Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Kentucky is currently accepting applications for a full-time 11-month teaching-focused special title (tenure eligible) faculty member with a preferred start date of July 1, 2027. We invite you to become part of a supportive community of dynamic and dedicated faculty focused on being national leaders in instruction, research, and service to positively impact others. This will be our second new faculty position this year to support robust growth in the department.

The Human Health Sciences (HHS) degree is a pre-professional program for students interested in healthcare careers. The HHS degree offers a liberal arts foundation designed to provide students with a comprehensive look at health care practices to complement a solid foundation in basic science. HHS graduates are prepared to pursue advanced professional degrees in healthcare, such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, optometry, athletic training, medical research, and more. Students are also being prepared for careers in patient navigation and leadership as well as other graduate studies. Primary duties of this faculty position will include teaching undergraduate courses in the HHS program such as ethics, health policy, research in health sciences, social determinants of health, and/or cultural humility, depending on the candidate’s area(s) of expertise. The faculty member will also participate in curriculum development, advising/mentoring students, student admission activities, and other activities as assigned by the Program Director or Department Chair. Additional duties include participating in service across the department, college and university levels and scholarship and research activities as appropriate for special title series. The anticipated effort for this position is Instruction 65-75%, Research/Scholarship 10-20%, Service 8-10%, Professional Development 2-5% and will be determined based on an annual agreement with the Department Chair.
