Job Description:

Characteristics of the Class:

Help operate and maintain the Melamine treaters. Insure material is cut to specified lengths and stacked or rewound neatly. Help setup and run the Melamine re-winders to produce neat treated rolls of overlay. With continual emphasis on visual quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Set up and maintain treater equipment to insure properly stacked and cut material.

2. Stack material according to specified length and width from Product Quality Department.

3. Continually check and make adjustments for maintaining visual quality.

4. Set up and run the Melamine re-winders to produce neat rewinds.

5. Change out treated rolls, replace cores, move with lift truck to storage room.

6. Change out completed pallets and replace with empty ones.

7. Make ORACLE Tags for pallets and rolls.

8. Follows all ISO procedures as written.

9. Work to keep treater downtime to a minimum.

10. Train to learn the Checkers position (fill in as needed).

11. Regular Attendance Required.

Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Machinery operating experience and knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Product knowledge and applicable quality standards.
  • Safe handling and knowledge of working around hazardous material.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate/GED or equivalent combination of work history and education.

EXPERIENCE:

One year of work experience and working knowledge of computers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy work. Tasks involves pushing / pulling of material up to 100lbs, lifting up to 85lbs from floor to mid-thigh, lift up to 50lbs from mid-thigh to shoulder, lift 40lbs from shoulder to overhead, carry up to 135lbs and standing and walking during a minimum ten hour shift.

ENVIRONMENT:

Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
