Position Summary
The Lead Logistics Engineer - Lifecycle Engineering is responsible for leading logistics engineering and integrated product support activities across ITI Engineering's portfolio of aerospace, defense, and mission-critical systems. This role serves as the technical authority for developing sustainment strategies, logistics analyses, and product support solutions that enable successful transition from system development through production, fielding, and long-term sustainment.
Working collaboratively across Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Manufacturing, Configuration Management, Product Support, and Program Management, this position integrates supportability requirements throughout the product lifecycle. The Lead Logistics Engineer develops and executes key sustainment products, including Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs), Level of Repair Analyses (LORA), provisioning strategies, maintenance concepts, and sparing analyses to optimize operational readiness, affordability, and lifecycle performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead logistics engineering and Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities across the product lifecycle.
- Develop LCSPs, maintenance concepts, support strategies, and logistics documentation.
- Perform Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), and repair-versus-replace evaluations.
- Develop provisioning and Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL), including reliability-based sparing analyses.
- Define support equipment, maintenance, repair, technical data, and stocking requirements.
- Partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Configuration Management, and Program Management to address supportability requirements.
- Advise leadership and program teams on sustainment risks, readiness, lifecycle cost, and obsolescence.
- Support design reviews, proposals, customer engagements, and program milestones.
- Establish effective logistics processes, metrics, and best practices.
- Provide technical mentorship and serve as the logistics engineering subject matter expert.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.
- Typically, 10+ years of experience in logistics engineering, integrated product support, product support management, or sustainment engineering within aerospace or defense.
- Demonstrated experience with LCSPs, LORA, logistics analysis, maintenance planning, and sparing.
- Experience supporting products or systems through development, production, fielding, and sustainment.
- Strong technical leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in relevant technical, logistics, or business discipline.
- Experience with DoD IPS and Product Support Business Model.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and configuration management.
- Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and or stand comfortably at a desk for extended periods of time performing computer-related tasks.
